Flipping Teacher Appreciation

I have shared before that I am not much of a scrapbooker. I don't have the patience or skill, but mostly the patience! It is one of things I wish I had a desire to do, just like I wish I had the desire to knit like my mother. She makes the most incredible wool socks ever! Reality is I don't.
My youngest son is graduating 5th grade this year and it is probably the last year I will make a teacher gift other than a card. Next year it is all about multiple teachers. I have seen the "flip album" in several places on-line and thought a year end teacher gift would be the just the thing to try it out. This is actually a gift I am putting together for the kids to give to their teacher.
The whole thing is done with Imaginisce's Teacher's Pet paper. Have you seen that stuff?? It has embossed patterns and great images and colors. It really helped me put together this album in a reasonable amount of time. It kinda looks like I knew what I was doing, lol. Here is the cover...(click on any photo to see a larger version)

Cover supplies: SU Tart and Tangy stamp set, ink (riding hood red, chocolate chip, old olive),1 14, 1 3/8 circle punches, Spellbinders Blossom die, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, SU ruby red brads.

Inside the front cover supplies: Cornish Heritage Farms Spring Trees and Pretty Birds sets, foam numbers, Spellbinders rectangle/scallop dies, Copic Markers. The sentiment was computer generated.

These flip albums just keep going and going...

I used some Imaginisce dollar stamps in places, my Dymo label maker and punched out some pieces from the paper to use as accents. At some point I had to stop with all the layers and dimensionals or it wouldn't have closed.

I went to the school during lunch hour a few weeks ago and took pictures of the kids.
I had a really nice photo of my son and a friend at the Memorial Day parade that seemed a shame to crop much further.
On the inner most page I will have all the kids sign their name. The stamps are retired SU (Think Big).

I love the concept of these albums but I will be honest and tell you I had trouble with what to fill it with. More proof that this just isn't my thing. BUT, I had fun in the process and I hope Mrs. Z enjoys it!
Now that this project is off my list, maybe I can get some cards made again.

I think it is an AWESOME flip book! You should do more. As you do more you will have more ideas of what to put inside, etc. The more you do, the better you get. I think you are off to a really good start!

Oh wow!!!! You did a GREAT job! Where did you get the pattern for that! My kids and SILs are all teachers and I know that any of them would be THRILLED to get something like this! I LOVE that DSP - I'll have to check out Imaginsce... I do have that owl from CHF! And the "Big Thanks" from SU! So your school band does marching in 5th grade?? That's pretty amazing! One of my DD's taught middle school band for awhile, and I couldn't believe that they had the middle-schoolers marching! Wow!
